What a thrill! I heard that Mr. B.B. King was coming to Spokane and I called the promoter. I asked if he would be able to arrange a signing. He said he would. I asked if he needed to see my work first. He said if I had enough nerve to call and ask him, my work must be good. He took great care of me. When I walked in the building a woman with a walkie talkie escorted the painting and myself to a "safe place". After the show I was taken back stage where I waited outside the dressing room. No one told me what the game plan was. I didn't know if someone was going to let me in, or if I was going to have to jump him on his way out. God - I didn't want to have to jump B.B.King - but I would have. Luckily his management let me save face and invited me in to meet Mr. King. He gave me that big smile and picked a spot to sign the painting.
