It must have been 120 degrees in Bangkok that day. I noticed this woman at the street market sitting in full sun with what seemed to be the warmest cloths she owned. I sold the piece at the first show I put on in San Francisco. I remember Mr. Brooks standing in front of the piece just studying it. I doubt he knew how badly I needed the sale and how difficult it was to just sit back and let him look without trying some rusty sales technique on him. Perhaps the fear of saying something stupid kept me in my place, thank God.
