I was honored when asked to create a FingerSmear commemorating the 50th anniversary of The United Nations in San Francisco. I had been selected to represent the work of living artists at The San Francisco Business Arts Council 1995 Ciril Awards. When I arrived on location with the piece I found a very formal setting, a lot of suites. Yikes! I thought, "are these people going to be willing to stick their fingers in paint for me?" Yes! I was way off base. They lined right up and had a great time. Most of them were perfectly silly about it.
