This painting was done from a photograph by Tim Roske. It was taken on Pete Seegers 78th birthday. The painting was done as part of a proposal for The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. By the time I made it into New York for the presentation Pete Seeger had returned a letter to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a list of banjo players he felt should be inducted into the American Music Master Series before him. I do believe, had he accepted the induction, I would have gotten the job...better luck next time. Many thanks to Petes manager, Mr. Harold Leventhal for arranging a signing for me, and to Pete for liking the work enough to sign it.
