This was the first time I was brave enough to paint flesh without using the traditional colors, and I loved it. The FingerSmear was created to benefit "No-Mayo Record," a nonprofit record label in San Francisco that benefits artSmart and employment for the homeless. The event itself was at Bimbo's in North Beach. The promoter had a hard time talking the club owners into letting some artist finger-paint in their lobby. I think they must have had visions of a Deny Dent performance. All went smoothly and the piece was sold privately to benefit the work of No-Mayo Records.
